João Manuel de Oliveira

João Manuel de Oliveira is a Research fellow at CIS-Iscte working on bodies and their performativity on the broad fields of Gender Studies, Critical Studies of Sexuality and Feminist Theory. João’s research work addresses theories of gender and intersectionality, hyphenation, homo/heteronormativity, de/subjugated knowledges, colonialities, anti-racist and anti-essentialist feminist theory, queer theory, trans* studies, contemporary arts, and dance. Currently, João co-coordinates the project Sexual Assistance: social representations and recommendations for public policies (funded by FCT).
