Between March 26 and 29, 2025, Iscte - Instituto Universitário de Lisboa was present at Futurália, the country's largest education, training and employability fair, held at the Lisbon International Fair (FIL) in Parque das Nações. The Center for Psychological Research and Social Intervention (CIS-Iscte) stood out by promoting two interactive activities that involved students and demonstrated the practical application of psychology in everyday life.

With the aim of bringing research closer to society, Iscte's participation in Futurália 2025 included its research units. On the afternoons of March 27 and 28, CIS-Iscte held two dynamic activities to showcase the psychological research carried out at our center.
In the activity “Shall we have breakfast? How psychology explains what we eat and how we eat it”, young students were able to explore their decisions about eating by weighing individual portions of breakfast cereal and estimating its sugar content. The idea was to illustrate how psychology can help improve eating habits, promoting healthier choices. The initiative was organized by the research team of the LessSugar4Kids project, funded by the “la Caixa” Foundation (SR23-00271): Marília Prada and David Guedes, and included the collaboration of students Inês Dias Albuquerque and Inês Martinho Chaves, from LAPSO's Psychology Research Initiation Program (PIIP).
Doctoral student Aíssa Baldé also represented CIS-Iscte with the activity “Discovering the Emotional Power of Music”, where she explained the impact of music on emotions. With the support of PIIP student Mónica Sousa, and through the presentation of film clips, she demonstrated how music can alter or intensify the emotional charge of a scene.
CIS-Iscte's participation in Futurália 2025 strengthened the center's commitment to bringing science closer to society, giving young people an overview of what they might find in the world of psychology research.
