A program to train researchers who can effectively evaluate the complexity of the energy transition

The project MISTRAL (Multi-sectoral approaches to Innovative Skills Training for Renewable energy & sociAL acceptance) aimed to nurture a new generation of researchers who can effectively evaluate the complexity of social acceptance issues facing the deployment of renewable energy infrastructure and propose innovative solutions in a variety of research, government and business contexts. The project involved 15 linked PhD studentships based at 7 European universities with a variety of industrial placements, summer schools and shared training. MISTRAL has received funding as an Innovative Training Network from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions (Grant Agreement No 813837), and the project ended in 2022.
